Our story
Born from Love. Fueled by Loss. Driven by Hope.
Beeliver began with a cry from the heart—a cry of love, hope, and unimaginable loss.
Our journey started with the man who meant the world to us:
Gabriel Carvajal III—our grandfather, father-in-law, and father.
When Gabriel was diagnosed with liver cancer, we were devastated. We searched across Miami for help and guidance—only to be met with silence. There were virtually no local resources for liver disease. No nonprofits. No roadmaps. Just fear, isolation, and far too many unanswered questions.
We finally found hope at Sylvester Cancer Center, where dedicated specialists stepped in to fight for Gabriel’s life. But even there, we learned something shocking: the liver research department lacked funding, and liver disease remained severely underrepresented in nonprofit support—not just in Miami, but across the entire country.
As we reflected on our family’s history, the pattern became heartbreakingly clear. Gabriel wasn’t alone.
We had also lost Teresa Musselman, Yolanda Cabrera-Gonzalez, and Otto Gonzalez—each to liver-related illness. Yet no one had ever warned us. No one had ever talked to us about the risks or symptoms. Liver disease had been hidden in silence. And that silence had cost us too much.
Gabriel fought valiantly. With the care he received, he went into remission and gave us three more beautiful, precious years. But in 2024, he lost his battle—this time to complications caused by the disease.
Out of this pain, Beeliver was born—founded in 2021 with a mission to make sure no other family would ever face liver disease without resources, support, or hope.
